It works automatically in Metro mode (provided the OSK isn't already running.)Ĭoincidentally I was in a Metro IE Address bar and seeing the problem symptom in it when I remembered that I already had the OSK.exe running, so then it gets tricky if you have minimized that and don't have a real keyboard.

I believe Win 8 to be the latest, but if it is clunky and too hard for visitors to use, then i I want to show our company as a technology leader using the latest tools. I want to use MS Win 8 on a touchscreen at an event soon, and we currently use iPads.

I must be missing something, as i dont think this competes very well with Android or Apple OS on tablets. Unless there is something i can do to change this.Įven if i could get the virtual keyboard to be pinned to Metro as an icon, you cant expect tablet users to come out of an application and back to metro every time, open up the keyboard and then go back to the app they were in, every time they want to type Once i minimize the keyboard so that i can see the screen, then i cant get it back again in Metro. I am using Metro by the way, as i want to use the touchscreen on its own. I have tried your suggestion and when Win 8 booted up, hey presto the Virtual Keyboard was there.
